Associations’ Response to Mobile Readiness

Last year we launched our Mobile Readiness Survey to gain a better understanding of associations’ needs in 2014 and beyond. From December 2013 to March 2014, we received 80 association responses regarding their mobile app strategies.

With our findings, we concluded a majority of associations who provided us feedback were from the Midwest region. To determine mobile app readiness among associations, we asked participants a number of questions, including their website accessibility across platforms and their mobile app offerings. With our own data and a few other sources, we determined relevant mobile topics for associations to be aware of.

A few examples of what you will find in the Associations’ Response to Mobile Readiness Report are:

  • Almost 74% of our respondents either said they have a responsive website or plan to offer one in 2014.
  • 91% of adults in the U.S. own a cellphone and within that range, 56% are smartphone users (Pew Internet Research, 2013).
  • About half of associations who completed our survey offer some type of mobile application to members.
  • Among desired mobile app features, social media integration and communication efforts were tied for first.
